Rochelle Hubs cross country team with their trophy at the Matt Walter Invite, September 2026
The varsity boys finished 3rd out of 15 schools that scored, and the top four teams took home trophies. Tyler Johnson, Esam Farraj and Greg Smith all medaled.
Johnson placed 4th. Farraj was named Harrier of the Meet after beating his seed by nine spots and running a 39-second PR of 16:26 to finish 9th overall.
Greg Smith is now in the low 17s, and freshman Reed Rowley is already firmly in the 17s. Cristopher Lawrence has improved every week. Nambo and Roberto Bugarin rounded out the top seven with PRs in the low 19s.
“This is the strongest team we’ve had on the boys’ side in a very long time,” Coach Bergeson said. “I’m proud of their hard work and commitment to each other.”
